Black Forest Cupcakes

You will need...

1 pack Green's Chocolate Cupcakes Mix

2 eggs

60g butter or margarine, softened

2/3 cup (150mL) milk

40g butter or margarine, melted for frosting

20ml milk for frosting

1 x 425g can of pitted cherries

300ml thickened cream

Shaved chocolate to decorate

Prepare cupcakes

Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C for fan forced). Line a 12 hole muffin pan with patty cases.

To a mixing bowl, add cupcake mix, eggs, soft butter or margarine and milk.

Using an electric mixer beat on low speed to combine. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Divide batter between 12 patty cases.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (160°C for fan forced) for 20-25 minutes or until cupcakes spring back when lightly touched in the centre.

Beat cream using an electric mixer for 2 minutes or until thickened.

Prepare Frosting

Place frosting mix, margarine or butter and milk. Mix with a wooden spoon. Set aside.


Using a small serrated knife cut the tops off each cupcake. Set aside.

Brush each cupcake with retained cherry liquid.

Spread cream on top of each cupcake and top with cherries.

Top with cupcake tops and decorate with chocolate frosting.

Sprinkle each cupcake with shaved chocolate.
