Country Pear Cake

You will need...

1 pack Green’s Traditional Moist Vanilla Cake Mix

2 eggs

150mL milk

1/4 cup caster sugar

2 ripe pears, peeled, cored and cut into quarters

2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened

60g butter or margarine, softened


Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C for fan forced). Grease and flour, or line a 20cm cake pan.

Caramel Pears

Add butter to a large fry pan and melt over low heat. Stir in sugar until combined. Add pears and cook for 5 minutes or until tender. Set aside.


In a mixing bowl add cake mix, eggs, soft margarine or butter and milk. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined.

Pour batter into prepared cake pan. Top with caramel pears.


Bake at 180°C (160°C for fan forced) oven for 35 - 40 minutes or until cake is golden.
